Northern Virginia teens can win up to $5,000 by creating a 90-second video promoting the value of saving money.  Burke & Herbert Bank is accepting entries for the 2016-17 Lights, Camera, Save!  video contest through December 1.  Sponsored by the American Bankers Association Foundation, “Lights, Camera, Save!  is a national competition offering area youth an opportunity to build their own savings while using their creativity to inspire other teens to be wise with their money,” said Terry Cole, Executive Vice President at Burke & Herbert Bank. “We were thrilled that the Bank’s 2015 regional winner, Jackson Harvey from West Potomac Academy, went on to place second in the ABA’s national competition. We’re looking forward to seeing this year’s entries and to having another big winner!”

To participate, students (ages 13-18) must create a 90-second video on saving and using money wisely and submit a link to the video along with a completed entry form to the Bank by December 1, 2016. Videos will be judged on their quality, message, content and the criteria set forth by the contest’s official rules.

Burke & Herbert Bank will host the first round of judging and will select a winner to represent the Bank on the national level for a prize up to $5,000, plus a scholarship for a teacher at their school to attend the 2017 Jump$tart National Educator Conference in Washington.  Burke & Herbert Bank is rewarding the top three local winners with $350, $100, and $50, respectively, to further their savings goal.  New this year, the Bank is also awarding a $50 gift card to the teachers of the top three local winners. Entry forms and more information can be found at www.burkeandherbertbank.com.
