Independent Pioneer Stephan Cassaday Named One of the Top Advisors in the Nation

Barron’s Ranks Cassaday #47 on 2017 Top 100 Financial Advisors List

Stephen Cassaday

Stephan Cassaday, President and CEO of Cassaday & Company, Inc., has again been named to Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors list, the publication’s largest, most comprehensive annual ranking.

Independent advisors are rarely on the list, which is dominated by employees of large international banks and brokerage firms. Steve was one of the first advisors to go independent, abandoning the traditional Wall Street brokerage model and founding Cassaday & Company, Inc. in 1993 in order to provide objective advice free from corporate agendas and conflicts of interest.

“Advisors who are independent businesspeople have greater control of their practices and more freedom to provide guidance and services because they are not under the influence of a corporate parent’s agenda,” Cassaday said.

Today, Cassaday & Company, Inc. has more than $2.1 billion in assets under management and has consistently been on Inc. Magazine’s list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. “Our boutique firm’s success is a testament to the fact that investors are placing an increasing amount of value in the objectivity that comes with the independent model. When you couple an independent, entrepreneurial business with a group of highly trained, experienced and motivated employees who all think like owners, great things can happen and people notice,”  Cassaday said.

“We are grateful to our clients who recognize this difference and want to be associated with a firm that is small enough to know them personally but has the resources to serve them at the highest levels. We attribute our success and growth to their continued trust in us,” continued Cassaday.

The rankings draw from all 50 states and the District of Columbia and are calculated based on assets under management, revenue generated for the advisors’ firms, and the quality of advisors’ practices. Investment performance is not included in the calculations, as advisors’ clients have unique goals and risk tolerances.
