46 Alexandria Organizations Benefit on Annual Contributions Day
“There are many unmet needs in our community,” said keynote speaker John Porter, CEO of Alexandria Community Trust (ACT). “The organizations Rotary supports through these grants helps meet the needs of those who are struggling and underserved.”
Grant applications are reviewed each year with consideration given to program sustainability, impact, the needs of children.
This year, grants were given to organizations like Casa Chirilagua for its summer Kids Club program, Neighborhood Health for the purchase of pediatric equipment, and the Radcliff Thomas Foundation for its Community Outreach Initiative and Sports Services Division.
Alexandria’s Rotary, founded in 1928, currently has 121 members, both men and women, and is part of a global network of 1.2 million problem-solvers who come together to make positive, lasting changes in communities at home and abroad.
