Ivanka Trump Visits Alexandria Kids on 9/11

Alexandria Children and Youth Commemorate September 11th at Volunteer Alexandria’s Event

First daughter Ivanka Trump visited the Dunbar Alexandria Boys & Girls Club in Alexandria on September 11, 2017.

In honor of 9/11, Volunteer Alexandria and volunteers from the American Legion Post 24 shared with 108 children and youth from the Dunbar Alexandria Boys & Girls Club the importance of being prepared for an emergency.

Veteran volunteers shared their personal experiences of this tragic event and the significance of 9/11. The students learned how therapy animals help survivors in counseling post disaster and how to make a plan for their families and have a kit ready in case of an emergency. The activity ended by students playing an engaging quiz game based on emergency preparedness questions.

Special guests, Ms. Ivanka Trump and children, participated in the event.
