Alexandria Police Captain Graduates from FBI National Academy

Alexandria Police Captain Monica Lisle graduated from the FBI National Academy December 15, 2017, one of 221 graduates in the academy’s 270th Session.

The National Academy Program is held at the FBI Academy in Quantico, and consists of 11 weeks of coursework in intelligence theory, terrorism and terrorist mindsets, management science, law, behavioral science, law enforcement communication and forensic science.

About 10 percent of the attendees of each session are international students. Thousands of international leaders from over 160 countries have graduated from the National Academy. The FBI National Academy began in 1935, and the number of graduates is now over 50,000.

Captain Lisle is the Commander of the police department’s Support Services Division. She joins the following current Alexandria police officers who have also completed the FBI National Academy: Chief Michael Brown, Deputy Chief David Huchler, Deputy Chief Chris Wemple, Deputy Chief Shahram Fard, Captain Don Hayes, Captain Len Fouch and Captain Shirl Mammarella.

Captain Lisle joined the Alexandria Police Department in 2002. During her tenure with the department she was a community support sergeant, property crimes sergeant and the tactical anti-crime sergeant. She was also assigned as the Commander of the Internal Investigations Unit and a Patrol Sector Captain.
