Are You Going to Enter the Fun Dog Show This Year?
March 3–Same Day as the Alexandria St. Patrick’s Day Parade
ALEXANDRIA,VA–Last year the parade skies were blue, and the crowd was green and orange, and filled with vim and vigor, but before all the politicians and boy scout troops marched down King Street, there was the annual fun dog show held at Market Square.
This year the host of the event, Peggy Fox from WUSA-9 and the Alexandria Animal Welfare League will be at Market Square in front of City Hall on March 3, and the contest will start at 11am. Contestants should arrive at 10:45am.
You may register your dog to be a contestant for a fun prize in any of these categories, and maybe more–check Registration form link at bottom:
- Dog-Owner Look-a-Like
- St. Patrick’s Spirit Award
- Best Costume
- Most Talented (each contestant has 30 seconds to show off their unique skill!)
Registration is $30 per category. All registration fees benefit the AWLA.
For the safety of all the attendees, canine and human, please have your dog on a non-extendable leash that is SIX feet or shorter, and unfortunately, this event is only appropriate for dogs that are comfortable in crowds and with other dogs.
Dogs are not permitted on Market Square before 10:30am, so please do not arrive for the contest earlier than 10:45am.
Also, the St. Patrick’s Day parade is a very popular event. Many streets are closed and parking can be difficult. Please plan accordingly.
