Capitol City Brewing Closes Shirlington Doors but DC Still Open

There is brown paper in the windows and the main phone line rings and rings until a fax machine starts to beep, so we cannot confirm exact plans, but it looks like Capitol City Brewing in Shirlington has closed for good.

Capitol City Brewing Co. opened its doors in 1992 as the first brew pub in our nation’s capitol since prohibition, and it has a flagship location in Washington at the corner of 11th and H NW which is still in operation.

At noon today we were waiting to hear back from a General Manager at the DC location to confirm or deny the actual closing of the location. If anything changes, we will be sure to update this post.

    1. You will note that the Facebook post by Cap City was put up on March 2nd, the SAME day we reported the losing. At the time of our post, there was nothing on their website about it. A little research did not yield that–they posted AFTER we reported.
