For more than 200 years, the scenic view from George Washington’s Mount Vernon has been preserved. Today, Dominion Energy threatens to destroy the historic vista with plans to build a gas compressor station directly across the Potomac River in Charles County, Maryland.

As the Estate points out on their web page, “George Washington’s Mount Vernon cannot be moved, however Dominion Energy’s gas compressor station can be relocated. We call upon Dominion Energy to change the location of this gas compressor station so that it does not interfere with the view from Mount Vernon.”

George Washington once wrote that “no estate in United America is more pleasantly situated than this.”

You can add your name to support Mount Vernon’s effort to have Dominion Energy move its gas compressor station to a different location HERE.
