The Del Ray Business Association hosted the 10th Annual Taste of Del Ray on June 3, showcasing a diverse collection of Del Ray’s top restaurants. The sold-out event featured a spirited competition between 16 participating neighborhood restaurants.
Del Ray Cafe served both dessert and a soup course — chouquettes with raspberry and chocolate dipping sauces, plus cold corn soup and chilled gazpacho — winning the Judges’ Choice Award. Juncton Bakery & Bistro’s Cubano Sandwich won the People’s Choice Award, as voted by festival attendees. This year’s judges were Beth Lawton of Alexandria Living Magazine, Deb Riley of the Alexandria Times, and Mary Wadland of The Zebra.

2nd place: Pork Barrel BBQ, Bread pudding with vanilla bourbon sauce
3rd place: Northside10, Shrimp and smoked Gouda grits with chorizo sausage

Held every June in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, the Taste of Del Ray showcases the neighborhood’s top restaurants in a spirited competition sponsored by the Del Ray Business Association. Proceeds from ticket sales help fund neighborhood events throughout the year.
