Focus Music Presents Kate Campbell, Plus Lynn Hollyfield

Two wonderfully soulful and talented folk artists, Kate Campbell and Lynn Hollyfield, will be visiting Focus Mount Vernon on Saturday August 11, 7:00 PM at the St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church.

Kate Campbell

Kate Campbell’s endearing, clear-water vocal delivery and her eloquent gift for storytelling have drawn repeated comparisons to such bastions of the Southern literary tradition as Flannery O’Connor, Eudora Welty, and William Faulkner. Her songwriting reflects the age in which she spent her formative years, which were during the very core of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960’s. Even those who do not deem themselves as country music fans will find themselves moved by Campbell’s profound lyrics and talent. Get a taste of Kate Campbell’s sound at https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=17&v=yDGUcXakJvg

Lynn Hollyfield

Blend a powerful singer, crisp acoustic guitar player and a heartfelt observer of the world and you will have singer-songwriter, Lynn Hollyfield. Hailing from Staten Island, NY, Lynn began playing the guitar at the age of 10. As she developed her talents, Lynn found inspiration in legendary jazz artist Ella Fitzgerald, as well as more contemporary groups such as the Beatles and CSNY. The result of these inspirations is a unique and beautiful blend of contemporary folk, pop, blues and jazz. Sample Lynn Hollyfield at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhYRlykzOrw
