ParkMobile, the leading provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in the US, has entered a new partnership with the City of Alexandria that will enable people to pay for parking on their mobile device. ParkMobile already has a strong presence in Washington, D.C., Arlington, Prince George’s County and Montgomery County. Adding Alexandria to the ParkMobile network makes it easier to pay for parking across the DC metro area.

The ParkMobile app will be available at approximately 1,200 parking spaces in Alexandria starting at the end of August. The previous mobile parking app will stop accepting payments in Alexandria on September 1st. There will be new stickers and signage posted in the city to provide information on how to pay for parking using the new app. People can also use the ParkMobile app to make parking reservations in select garages around the city.

ParkMobile is a free app available for iPhone and Android devices. Users can choose to upgrade for $0.99/month to the ParkMobile Pro membership which includes Parking Availability, a feature that shows where the open on-street parking spots are in immediate area.
