Alexandria’s Saints Enjoy Back to School

St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School kicked off an exciting 2018-2019 school year on September 4 and 5, as the halls of SSSAS were once again filled with students, faculty, and staff for Welcome Day and Opening Day.

Welcome Day provided the opportunity for families to meet teachers, learn class assignments, visit classrooms, and get familiar with student schedules. The ninth grade class participated in an orientation program and spent the afternoon in a team building program facilitated by faculty and an external group called Challenge Discovery.

Wednesday marked the first day of school, as students entered with excitement on all three campuses. The Upper and Middle Schools also held their first chapel services of the year this week. In addition, the Upper School looks forward to the annual Fun Friday activities!

The week before Opening Day kept faculty, coaches, staff, and many students busy as well. Pre-season fall athletic practices, scrimmages, and even some games got underway. New students and new faculty/administrators were also on campus for orientation last week, and all teachers returned to their classrooms to set up supplies and prepare for the new school year.
