Alexandria Offering FREE Training Series for Condo and Community Associations

City of Alexandria and Mercer Trigiani Announce Training Series for Condominium and Community Associations

The City of Alexandria and Alexandria-based law firm Mercer Trigiani will sponsor a series of workshops related to condominium and community associations during FY2019.  The goals for these classes include educating first-time homebuyers about the structure and governance of condominium communities; strengthening the knowledge of community board members in understanding, managing and amending governing documents; and helping communities understand fair housing law related to community association management. The workshops are offered at no cost to participants, but pre-registration is requested.  The list of sessions is below.

  • Saturday, September 29, 2018
    Topic: Community and Condominium Association Basics

  • Saturday, February 2, 2019
    Topic: Understanding Governing Documents and Legal Responsibilities

    Topic: Fair Housing Compliance

Condominiums have traditionally been the most affordable homeownership housing option for first-time homebuyers in the City of Alexandria.  Recognizing the importance of the City’s condominium communities in preserving the City’s economic and social diversity, the City hopes to broaden awareness of community association management in hopes of strengthening and preserving these resources for the future.
