“Saving Spaces” Book Release Sept 12 at Lloyd House with Author, John Sprinkle

Join Alexandria Archaeology and the Office of Historic Alexandria for the release of John Sprinkle’s new book, Saving Spaces: Historic Land Conservation in the United States. The book provides an overview of historic preservation in America and uses case studies, such as Alexandria’s Lloyd House, to show the struggles and successful strategies for conserving the country’s historic buildings and landscapes.
Dr. Sprinkle is the Bureau Historian for the National Park Service’s Park History program. He received his doctorate in American History from the College of William and Mary and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, University of Maryland, College Park. He is a member of the Alexandria, Virginia Old and Historic District Board of Architectural Review and the Historic Alexandria Foundation.
