Two Familiar Faces Take the Reins as Bishop Ireton Coaches
Alexandria, VA – Bishop Ireton High School has hired Harry Sober and Kaitlyn McNutt as the new varsity boy’s and girl’s swim coaches. McNutt graduated from Bishop Ireton in 2014 and currently serves as the Assistant Student Activities Coordinator.
“Kaitlyn is very familiar with the Bishop Ireton community, and she is a perfect fit for the program,” said Athletic Director Bryce Bevill. “Her knowledge of our current swimmers will allow her to help them to continue their development.”
Sober has been a familiar name in the BI community when he first coached the swim team in 1971. He has served in various roles throughout his time with the school, working in the business office (1976-1980), coaching the track team (1978-1980), and teaching photography classes.
“There are few times you get a chance to hire a Hall of Fame coach,” said Bryce Bevill. “We have that in the hiring of Harry Sober. The combination of him and Kaitlyn, along with our current dive coach Anita O’Quinn, will elevate our swimming program to a new level.”
