Alexandria’s Pendleton Carryout Company Launches Breakfast
New menu items increase carryout options in Alexandria’s first food incubator
ALEXANDRIA, VA – Great news! Alexandria’s first food incubator is serving breakfast at the Pendleton Carryout Company (PCOC), 807 Pendleton St. on Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 4 pm. They will offer breakfast sandwiches from Ed McIntosh, and breakfast tarts from Killa Cakes and a breakfast pizza from Sliced. And, as if that weren’t enough, new bao buns from Laoban Dumpling and burgers will join the menu.
Killa Cakes Pastry Chef Bria Taylor is delivering lots of fun flavor with her new breakfast pastries – a berry bomb tart filled with homemade wild berry jam and topped with a berry glaze and the miss piggy tart with a cinnamon brown sugar bacon filling topped with maple glaze and candied bacon pieces.
The new breakfast sandwiches are served on a sesame seed bun from Lyon Bakery, and include three different varieties. The classic bacon, egg and cheese features hardwood smoked bacon with American cheese and smash sauce. The fresca includes bacon, dressed rocket arugula, oven roasted tomatoes and mozzarella. The smoky mushroom uses king oyster mushrooms, scallions, smoked gouda cheese and smash sauce.
The new breakfast pizza is loaded with Alexandria’s Logan Sausage chorizo and potato, Monterey jack and cheddar cheese, and scallions. PCOC will offer Lost Sock coffee, Western House and Ecuadorian Finca La Florida blends, with breakfast.
The new pork gua bao from Laoban Dumpling is a braised pork bun with cucumber, cilantro, hoisin sauce, and spiced peanuts. Burger lovers will be able to create their own burger while ordering online or in store. Chef Ed McIntosh suggests some new burger combos including a burrata burger with arugula, roasted tomato and house chimichurri, and a bbq burger with chipotle sauce, shredded jack and scallions.
