Goodbye Bus Garage, Hello Residences at 600 North Royal Street in Old Town, Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Before the Alexandria Planning Commission Thursday, February 7th is a proposal to demolish the existing WMATA bus garage at 600 N. Royal Street and redevelop the property with a multifamily residential building consisting of 287 units, 12 of which are set aside for affordable housing.

The complex plans include apartment-style housing of one, two and three-bedroom units, along with eleven 3-story townhouses fronting North Pitt Street, and a two-level underground garage. The project will circle the block of Royal, Pendleton, Pitt and Wythe Streets with a residential courtyard and pool inside the quad.

Trammel Crow is the developer of record and the architect on the project is the Alexandria firm of Hord, Coplan and Macht.

This project does not involve any wetlands.
