Don’t Miss: Photos of the George Washington Birthday Parade in Old Town!
Miss the parade? Don't worry - we got pictures!
The annual George Washington Birthday Parade in Old Town went off without a hitch on Monday, Feb. 18! After a weekend of activity that included the George Washington Birthnight Ball at Gadsby’s Tavern and more than a dozen historically themed events, President’s Day itself began off with a scavenger hunt, the laying of wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary Soldier at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House and finished with the grande finale – the parade itself, which is the oldest George Washington birthday parade in the country.
Additionally, Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson, members of the city council and U.S. military officials signed an Armed Forces Community Covenant.
