First Thursday Season!

First Thursday returns to Del Ray on Thursday, April 4, with the theme “Hats Along the Avenue.” The monthly street festival takes place from 6 p.m. to dusk along Mount Vernon Avenue, and is free and open to all.
In April, pull out your favorite hat, Easter Bonnet, or Crazy Hat Day-inspired creation and stroll Mount Vernon Avenue and enjoy live music from the Janna Audey Band and the Alexandria Country Day School band, plus themed activities. Pets are welcome. Pets with hats are welcome, too!
Participants are encouraged to bring donations for Friends of Guest House, which helps women successfully reenter the community from incarceration. Visit their Amazon wish list at http://a.co/amzehN9. Items that are especially needed are twin bed sets including comforters, and women’s underwear of all sizes. Donations will be collected at the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square, located at the intersection of Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenues.
