Alexandria, VA – What a perfect day for a ball game! It was a sunny, 65-degree opening day for the Alexandria Little League at Little Simpson Field on Saturday, April 6. The George Washington Middle School Choir performed the National Anthem and Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson threw out the first pitch!

“It was a beautiful morning to get the season started,” Wilson told The Zebra. “Thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers and the generosity of so many sponsors, the kids will surely have a great season. Hopefully nobody remembers the accuracy of my pitch…”

The nonprofit Alexandria Little League serves children between 8 and 16 years old in seven age divisions.
