Alexander Hansen Awarded 2019 Old Town Alexandria Connections Scholarship

The award was established in 2014 to honor the late Peter Williams, a former OTAC president.

Alexandria, VA – Alexander Hansen, a senior at Commonwealth Academy in Old Town, was awarded the fifth annual Peter Williams Memorial Scholarship on May 8. The senior was joined by his family as he received the $1,000 award from Old Town Alexandria Connections at the Belle Haven Country Club.

The award was established in 2014 to honor the late Peter Williams, a former OTAC president.

Hansen, who plans to attend George Mason University to study information technology this fall, is an Eagle Scout, a volunteer ambassador at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History and builds model airplanes in his spare time. Most recently, he has participated in a clean-up initiative with a new group called We Love Old Town Alexandria.
