Alexandria, VA – Need to look good and have a unique customer experience? The Old Town Boutique District is all about experiential retail, and to help out local shoppers who’d rather stay home than travel all the way to Paris, the group of retailers launched their 2019 Guide at Hummingbird on May 16.
“It’s all about creating a lifestyle and keeping it unique,” said Old Town Boutique District President Megan Podolsky.
Want to look and feel like a movie star in Alexandria? Start with Misha’s Coffee, and then get your hair done at Salon deZEN, pick up some jewelry at Queen Bee Designs, find a new outfit at Sara Campbell, and then lunch at Mia’s Italian Kitchen before buying a treat/toy/outfit for Rex at The Dog Park.

Tourism dollars go a long way in Old Town, but local dollars are what keep the businesses in the Old Town Boutique District running.
“We’re extremely welcoming,” said OTBD Vice President Maria Elizabeth, who owns Salon deZEN, which also hosts a number of hair, beauty and lifestyle classes every month. “We’re high-end, but very neighborhoody. Everyone knows everyone else’s name, and it’s important for the community.”
