Alexandria, VA – Mike Anderson and Bill Blackburn might not be finished opening restaurants in Alexandria. The pair, who held their opening night of Whiskey & Oyster – their sixth restaurant in the port city – but Anderson said that he has eyes for one more restaurant in Alexandria’s Carlyle neighborhood.
“I gotta sell my wife on it first,” Anderson said. “Carlyle is where it’s at. It’s the future of the city.”
Whiskey & Oyster at 301 John Carlyle St., took Anderson and Blackburn more than two years to open, and features more than 50 unique whiskies and 12 craft beers, as well as a full seafood menu.
Guests included Mayor Justin Wilson, Vice Mayor Elizabeth Bennett-Parker, Alexandria Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Joe Haggerty and many more. The evening was also the one-year anniversary of Anderson and Blackburn’s Tequila & Taco – also in Carlyle, and all Saturday night a shuttle ran diners between the two restaurants.
