There’s a New Chaplain at Bishop Ireton High School

Rev. Noah Morey replaces Rev. Edward J. Bresnahan, who has been at Bishop Ireton since 2013.

Alexandria, VA – Bishop Ireton High School has a new chaplain! The Reverend Edward J. Bresnahan, who has been at Bishop Ireton since 2013 has been reassigned. His replacement, Reverend Noah C. Morey, has been assigned to the school with residence at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Alexandria.

“The central part of a priest’s life is to bring Jesus to the people,” Morey, 33, told The Catholic Herald. “A lot of people are hungry for the spiritual food that only Jesus can bring.”

Bresnahan has has been assigned to Parochial Vicar at Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish in Clifton. Morey is a parochial vicar at All Saints Parish in Manassas, and his job officially starts on June 27.

Morey, an Eagle Scout who was  born in Idaho and raised in Seattle, is the sixth of eight children. He received his degree from Christendom College in 2004, and later taught Latin at Chelsea Academy in Front Royal before enrolling in Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD.

In other religious news, effective Monday, July 1, and in accordance with routine clergy appointments made by the Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington, Reverend Juan Espino, DCJM has been assigned as the new Pastor of Queen of Apostles Parish in Alexandria. Reverend Leopoldo M. Vives, DCJM, Pastor of Queen of Apostles Parish in Alexandria has been assigned outside the Diocese of Arlington.
