Get Out and VOTE! Today is Primary Day in Alexandria

Alexandria, VA –  It’s primary day in Alexandria! Did you vote? As of 10 a.m., the Mount Vernon precinct had the highest tally in the city at 144 votes. There are two important races to pay attention to in Alexandria – the State Senate race between Dick Saslaw (D-35th) and Yasmine Taeb and the clerk of court race between Greg Parks and Ben Ortiz!

As of noon, Mount Vernon received 180 votes – out of 4,500 total voters in the precinct, with 55 absentee votes, which equates to about 4 percent.

“That is very high,” said Precinct Captain James Bender. “We were expecting that number all day. The city’s election officials expect us to get to 8 percent by the end of the day.”
