“Our Metropolitan D.C. area is in desperate need for blood donations. This summer has been exceptionally challenging keeping up with increased patient needs,” Inova Blood Donor Services said in an email. “Due to the nationwide blood shortages, other blood centers are unable to help support us when we fall short on donations from local donors. We are struggling to meet the needs of patients we serve. We need your help.”
Inova needs folks to:
- Donate
- Encourage friends to donate
- Help organize blood drives in August and September
- Post about the critical need on social media
“If you can do one or more of the items above, you will make a difference for patient care this summer,” Inova said.
