Low Interest Loans Available to Alexandrians Impacted By July 8 Storms
Disaster Loan Outreach Centers will operate in the region on Aug. 13, and applications can be made at the SBA's website until October.
Alexandria, VA – Was your business or home impacted by the July 8 storms that swept through Alexandria? The U.S. Small Business Association is making low interest loans available for “qualifying” Alexandria home and business owners to replace or repair any damaged real estate.
The weather event, which was formally declared an emergency by the Alexandria City Council, saw a month’s worth of rain dumped on the city over the course of an hour.

Homeowners may be eligible to get up to $200,000 in loans to replace damaged real estate, and up to $40,000 to repair any damaged personal property. Businesses and private nonprofits can get up to $2 million in loans
The interest rates for the 30-year loans are:
- 1.938 percent for homeowners and renters
- 4 percent for businesses
- 2 percent for nonprofits
