ALEXANDRIA,VA- “We all know someone – a family member, neighbor, co-worker, or friend – who has been touched by breast cancer. We are committed to making a difference starting right here in our own community,” said Dr. David Weintritt, Founder of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Last year more than 750 people registered and over $80,000 was raised to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation in Alexandria. The Center exists to remove barriers that prevent underprivileged women from getting proper screening, diagnosis, education and treatment for breast cancer.

Organized by volunteers, most of whom are breast cancer survivors, the Walk to Bust Cancer hopes to break records this year. Sponsorships are still needed. For as little as a $100 sponsorship, you or your company can be listed on the website and on signage at the event, and your donation would provide the funds for a comprehensive office visit where anxiety is met with answers. For $500, you could be a Silver Sponsor and provide whole breast ultrasound screening, digital mammogram or genetic testing for several women.

For more information on how to register, sponsor or just donate to the cause, please visit nationalbreastcenterfoundation.org or contact Executive Director Martha Carucci at [email protected].
