Don’t Miss the Awesome Literary Event for “How To Read A Book”!
Alexandria, VA – Is there anything more lovely than curling up in a comfy chair with a warm drink, and escaping reality in the pages of a good book?
Reading is one of the greatest pleasures there is! New York Times-bestselling author and Newbery Medalist Kwame Alexander wants to make sure children know how to dive into the world of reading with his new book, How To Read A Book. The book is a treat to read, with lines such as “squeeze every morsel of each plump line until the last drop of magic drips from the infinite sky,” children and adults alike will want to read and re-read this story.
Not only is the story one to savor and enjoy but so is the beautiful art in the book. Caldecott Honoree and illustrator Melissa Sweet’s bright and brilliant artwork pops off the pages and keeps the reader engaged.
Meet the author when he stops in Alexandria on his fall book tour! Alexander will be with touring partner and musician, Randy Preston. Preston has also written original songs for Kwame’s two novels, Rebound and Solo. The pair have come together to bring kids the ultimate reading experience: a literacy concert at every stop!
Don’t miss the awesome literary event happening on Friday, October 4th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Hooray for Books. In addition to a book signing, Alexander and Preston will perform a literacy concert for all that attend.
This is a great event for kids of all ages. The event is free, but you must have a ticket to attend. Registration is available on the Hooray For Books website.
