Construction: Seminary Road Repaving Starting Next Week

Here's what you need to know about the upcoming construction project in Alexandria.

Alexandria, VA- The repaving of a highly contested area of Seminary Road is set to start on Oct. 14 and will run through Oct. 28. Last month, City Council voted 4-3 to reduce the roadway to two east-westbound lanes with an “AC/DC” turn lane in the middle and bike lanes.

What You Need To Know

  • The stretch on Seminary Road, from Library Lane to N. Howard Street, will be worked on at night from Oct. 14 through Oct. 18 (weather permitting). The hours of operation will be between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • After the night project is finished, Seminary Road, from N. Howard Street to N. Quaker Lane, will be repaved during the day from Oct. 21 through Oct. 28. between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • There will be no roadwork on weekends
