Shop in Support of Senior Citizens on Community Giving Day
Encourage your friends and family to shop in support of seniors on Community Giving Day. Senior Services of Alexandria will be a beneficiary of this event.
Alexandria, VA – All of us deserve to have access to healthy foods to help nourish our bodies, minds, and active days. On Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can do your part to support the 2019 Whole Foods Market October Community Giving Day!
Whole Foods will be giving 5% of net sales from the day to Meals on Wheels America. Our own Senior Services of Alexandria will be one of the beneficiaries of this event. More than 490 Whole Foods Market locations will participate in the Community Giving Day by donating to organizations, projects and programs that support the mission of ensuring access to healthy food for all.
In Alexandria, the Whole Foods location at 1700 Duke St. will be participating. There will be an opportunity to take photos at the Meals on Wheels booth, which will be staffed by Senior Services staff members.
Senior Services of Alexandria (SSA) is a nonprofit organization that operates the Meals on Wheels delivery program and DOT transportation reservations for the City, presents educational programs through various events, a speaker series, a Senior Ambassador program and a monthly cable television production, Senior Living in Alexandria. SSA.
