Alexandria, VA – Everybody likes to win, right? The owners of Pork Barrel BBQ in Del Ray liked the feeling of winning the World Series so much that they recently announced a special offer. Pork Barrel is offering free food to Washington Nationals stars Stephen Strasburg, Anthony Rendon, and Ryan Zimmerman if they choose to sign new contracts in the nation’s capital.
The players are currently free agents and are negotiating new contracts with a major league baseball team.
“We’ve always been community minded,” said Pork Barrel co-owner Mike Anderson. “We felt we needed to do something to keep these guys here.”

Pork Barrel wanted to point out that Rendon, who is a Texas native, should feel right at home with the food. Also, it has been proven that a high protein diet can help during the five-day recovery period for starting pitchers, and can also help when battling foot inflammations.
“We have other restaurants too. We are willing to fine tune this deal with [sports agent] Mr. Boras,” said Pork Barrel co-owner Bill Blackburn. “Scott, give us a call. Let’s work this out. We want these guys to stay right here and eat well for the rest of their careers.”
Need any more incentive? It’s a pretty sweet deal.
