It Was the Biggest EVER Del Ray Candy Cane Bar Crawl!

Alexandria, VA – How about that Del Ray Candy Cane Bar Crawl, huh? The 4th annual event, which was held on Dec. 14, was the biggest to date, and the totals are still being tabulated as to the amount raised for Alexandria’s Community Lodgings.

“This was the biggest ever, and we had 675 participants,” said event organizer Gayle Reuter. “The spirit is overflowing.”

Participating restaurants included Rt’s Restaurant, Hops N’Shine, Northside10, Cheesetique Del Ray, Catch on The Ave, Stomping Ground, Pork Barrel BBQ, Del Ray Pizzeria, St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub, Evening Star Cafe, KAiZEN Tavern, Live Oak Restaurant, Charlie’s On The Avenue, The Garden, and Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap. Incidentally, everything wrapped up with a dance party at Pork Barrel BBQ!

“This is for community housing and it brings everyone together,” said Jason Yates, the owner of Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap. “Del Ray and Alexandria are very special places. We’ve been here 55 years and I’ve never seen bonding such as this with so many people.”
