The King Street Metrorail Station South Entrance is Closing Temporarily
Starting Tuesday, April 21, the project contractor is installing sidewalks, trench drains, and other infrastructure improvements.
Alexandria, VA – The King Street Metrorail Station south entrance will close temporarily starting Tuesday, April 21. The work will take two months to complete, weather permitting.
The south entrance is the main entrance to the station, located directly across from the Diagonal Road walkway. Pedestrian access to the station, DASH and WMATA buses, and Diagonal Road will be maintained. A temporary pathway and signage will guide Metro riders to enter or exit via one of the two other station entrances: the King Street entrance, which is also accessible via the Diagonal Road walkway, and the North entrance at Cameron Street and Commonwealth Avenue.
