FDA Releases Food Safety Recommendations

Wash food and keep preparation surfaces clean

Alexandria, VA –  In its nightly email, the city continues to urge residents to stay at home, unless going out is essential. And when out, they stress the importance of maintaining six feet of distance around others.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently offered tips for the proper handling and preparing of food during the pandemic. While there is no evidence that people can catch the coronavirus from food, it is important to remember to keep preparation surfaces clean and wash food. The FDA also provides safety tips for visiting the grocery store.
