Alexandria, VA – Everyone knows the frustration of looking for a TV station and not being able to find it. Well, heads up. On May 1, WWPB-TV (PBS 31) will change frequencies on TVs with an antenna.

If you watch over-the-air television, you will need to rescan your set to receive the channel.

This is a transition required by the  Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to make room for 5G broadband Internet. Previously, six other area stations moved frequencies. The FCC has dispensed information about the ongoing process. Learn how to rescan your TV HERE. A transition schedule is available HERE. Have a question? Read the FAQ page HERE. Find areas in transition with this interactive map.

For further assistance, call the consumer help line at 1-888-CALLFCC (1-888-225-5322) and press “6” to speak with a dedicated help desk representative, seven days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. (EST).
