Cuisine Solutions Serves 2,400 Meals to Virginia Hospital Center Healthcare Workers
Alexandria, VA – On Thursday, May 21, Cuisine Solutions donated and served 2,400 meals to front-line healthcare workers at Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) to show appreciation for the hard work and sacrifices they are making to serve the community during COVID-19. This was a collaborative effort organized by Cuisine Solutions and Jose Andres’ World Central Kitchen.
Cuisine Solutions’ Chief Executive Officer & President Felipe Hasselmann is leading the effort working with the company’s talented culinary team. The meals being served are part of Cuisine Solutions’ new line of oven-able and microwaveable meals developed in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. They are designed to enable consumers to reheat and serve high-quality products safely, with minimal human contact.
The grab-and-go menu for the hospital outreach included choices such as Baked Eggs, whole egg with Gruyère cheese, turkey sausage, roasted peppers and onions, parsley and cheddar or egg whites with mozzarella, tomato, spinach, everything seasoning, and basil; Southwest Turkey Sandwich with sundried tomato and Swiss cheese; Sliced Beed Panini with fire roasted pepper aioli and Gruyère cheese; Vegetarian Sandwich with Monterey Jack and red pepper egg bites, basil pesto, and grilled eggplant; Montreal-Rubbed Chicken Breast with organic five grains and sundried tomato; Mediterranean Lamb, braised lamb, quinoa, cilantro, and pickled onion; and Vegetarian Puloa, saffron brown rice, garam masala, spiced paneer, and vegetable medley. Cuisine Solutions’ chefs and staff worked out of the company’s mobile kitchen, staged on the grounds of Virginia Hospital Center, to ensure the meals were delivered warm and at peak freshness to these critical workers.
“Cuisine Solutions’ sous vide line of products arrives fully cooked, pasteurized and vacuum-sealed, preventing cross-contamination, which reduces the need for human contact, and ensures quality and safety from plant to plate,” says Felipe Hasselman. “Our quality creations are ideal for serving large groups safely and quickly.
