ALEXANDRIA, VA – People are seen riding bikes a lot more these days. Biking is both a good way to exercise and travel from place to place. But with the increase in riders comes an increase accidents. The City of Alexandria has taken notice of accidents around town and is offering virtual bike training sessions.
The training sessions on July 29 and and August 22 are a collaboration with the Washington Area Bicyclist Association.
During these classes, riders will learn how to safely ride their bikes in traffic, communicate with drivers using hand signals, and how to prepare for a ride.
Both sessions are free and sponsored by the Department of Transportation and Environmental Services.
