ALEXANDRIA, VA – Democracy Federal Credit Union (DFCU) continues its efforts to help the Alexandria community during the pandemic. Most recently, the financial institution donated $500 to Christ Church in Old Town. The gift will be used to help feed the hungry.

“We are excited to donate to Christ Church for the benefit of the Lazarus Ministry. Anything that we can do to further their good work, especially during this time of need, helps make our community stronger,” said Ken Cahoon, President and CEO of DFCU.

DFCU knows that everyone must help to feed the hungry. And that assistance is needed right now.

On May 1, Christ Church began delivering groceries to those in need. Since then, volunteers have made drop-offs to 299 households, reaching over 1,000 residents.

The partnership between DFCU and Christ Church began earlier this year year when the church sought financial consultation.
