Salon MONTE Opens with a Ribbon Cutting in Old Town
Alexandria, VA – Monte Durham (“Say Yes to the Dress” on TLC) cut the ribbon to open his brand-new Old Town Alexandria salon in front of an adoring crowd on a beautiful Saturday evening. Salon MONTE is located at 210 South Union Street, right next door to Hotel Indigo and the Hummingbird Restaurant, which hosted a glamorous reception for the opening.
In his official welcome, Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson thanked Monte for bringing his business to Old Town. “We are thrilled that Monte is here and putting Alexandria on the map,” Wilson said. “Thank you for your vision and making this happen. Congratulations!”
Monte thanked everyone for their love and support, introduced his sisters and friends to the crowd, and then handed the scissors to Mayor Wilson to cut the ribbon and “get the party started.”
Gracious and elegant, Salon MONTE pays homage to former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis; in fact, the salon’s opening just happened to fall on the 67th wedding anniversary of Senator John and Jacqueline Kennedy. Coincidence? Think again. In addition to a stunning portrait, a replica of Jackie’s wedding dress stands proudly on display, a classic design that’s always in style.
