Rocket to Launch From Wallops Island Tonight, Re-Supply Space Station

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Keep an eye on the sky tonight. NASA has scheduled the launch of a rocket at 9:16 p.m. The rocket will liftoff from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport on Wallops Island.

Its mission is to re-supply the International Space Station. The voyage will take a few days.

An ideal vantage point is the George Washington Masonic National Memorial, looking to the east.

According to NASA’s blog on the launch, the rocket, Antares, should be visible for about five minutes, depending on weather conditions.

The weather is reported to be 90 percent favorable for launch.
