Vegan PLNT Burger Restaurant Opens Inside Whole Foods

Alexandria, VA – Co-founder and chief culinary director for PLNT Burger, Spike Mendelsohn (of ‘Top Chef’ fame) was in town recently to open the hip new vegan burger joint inside the Whole Foods store at 1700 Duke Street and on opening day gave away 100 free burgers to the first people in line.

PLNT stands for Positivity, Learning, Nourishment and TOGETHERNESS, and the company is all about the modern trends in food, which means plant-based everything.

“This will be our lucky store #7,” said Mendolsohn.

The burgers are all vegan, and as the company said in a recent tweet, “Eating plant-based food should be an upgrade, not a sacrifice!

Hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, and there is an app if you want to order ahead.
