Alexandria, VA – Doug Wright shared a story by Vernon Miles written for the online Alexandria news agency ALX Now about Chadwicks, an Old Town favorite restaurant and bar, putting together a plan to add a second floor balcony and additional ground-level patio seating in the alley beside their building. The proposal will be before the Board of Architectural Review on April 7.

Owner Trae Lamond told ALX Now, “I wanted to come up [with] a clever way to add outdoor dining ever since I bought the place in 2015 and struck out one way or another until I saw the simplest answer: put it right there in the alleyway,” Lamond said. “We started the process before COVID, then we went into survival mode for 2020. That was until the city bailed out all of us with the temporary outdoor dining expansion, which really opened my eyes to how important that was. It was such a slam dunk.”

The post went mini-viral within its first 48 hours on the Curbside Dining page, attracting more than 32 shares, 483 likes and 35 comments, and 13, 448 views!
