Help Carpenter’s Shelter Raise $35,000 Before the End of April
ALEXANDRIA, VA–Carpenter’s Shelter is requesting the generosity of Alexandrians to help raise $35,000 by the end of April to support its emergency shelter.
I spoke with Executive Director of Carpenter’s Shelter, Shannon Steene, about this cause. He says, “With some of our biggest fundraisers canceled for the second year in a row, we need our loyal supporters to help bear some of that burden.”
Donations to this cause are welcome 24/7 online at carpentersshelter.org.
These funds will be put towards the improvement and upkeep of the emergency shelter facility, acquiring provisions such as food and PPE, supporting Carpenter’s Shelter staff, and keeping Carpenter’s Shelter’s doors open.
Steene and everyone at Carpenter’s Shelter knows that the facility has always run on the generosity of the community, and that throughout the years, throughout the pandemic, that hasn’t changed.
“We’ve never closed our doors since this whole pandemic has gone on, and it is because of the support from the community,” says Steene.
He continues, “This neighborhood has been remarkably welcoming… We are so pleased to be in a facility that is built for what it is that we do.”
What Carpenter’s Shelter does is paramount to the success of the Alexandria community and its members. To keep that facility beautiful and running smoothly, Carpenter’s Shelter needs the help of Alexandrians to raise $35,000 by the end of April.
