Alexandria Aces Season Opener June 8, Request for Host Families for Players
CORRECTION: A previous version of this article stated that the Aces last regular-season game is June 25. The correct date is July 21, three days before the start of the playoffs.
ALEXANDRIA, VA–The Alexandria Aces of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, an affiliate of Major League Baseball, will host their season opener on June 8 at their stadium at Frank Mann Field at Four Mile Run Park.
From June 8 through July 21, the Aces will play 18 home games and 18 away games, a total of 36 games this season.
New Majority Owner, Frank Fannon, says, “As an MLB affiliate, the Alexandria Aces are a great recruiting tool for college athletes.”
To expound upon that recruitment, this season, the Aces are requesting 15 families to each host a college baseball player to stay with them during the season while the athlete trains with and plays for the Aces.
The host families must be able to provide access to a bedroom, a bathroom, a washer and dryer, and a parking spot (should the player have their own car). Players and families will be connected based on logistics, convenience, schedules, allergies (particularly to pets), etc.

“This is a great opportunity for these college players to break into the big leagues,” says Frank.
