Taste of Del Ray Opens Friday June 4

ALEXANDRIA, VA–One of Virginia Living Magazine’s top food festivals in the state, the Taste of Del Ray, will open this weekend, on Friday June 4.

As events have had to adapt throughout the pandemic, the Taste of Del Ray is no exception. The new event format will look like a weekend-long event from Friday, June 4 to Sunday, June 6.

Each participating restaurant will offer select “tastes” from their menus for just $5 each. Select restaurants will also be offering complementary cocktails. “Tastes” are available to-go or in-house at each participating Del Ray establishment.

The Taste of Del Ray is sponsored by the Del Ray Business Association (DRBA). Participants can register for the Taste online for $5, and cast a ballot for the People’s Choice Award.

For the People’s Choice Award, each restaurant can enter up to three food items to be judged in the competition. (Cocktail pairings will not be judged.) All Taste of Del Ray menu items will be available June 4-6 for pick-up or dine-in during each restaurants’ normal operating hours.

All those who register for the Taste of Del Ray will receive a ballot to cast their vote for the People’s Choice Awards. You can register and vote at any time during the entire Taste of Del Ray weekend. Voting closes at 8:30pm on Sunday, June 6.

Judges for this year’s People’s Choice Awards are Alexandria Sheriff Dana Lawhorne and local restauranter Trae Lamond. The Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice awards winners will be announced Monday, June 7.

All restaurants continue to follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
