Meet the Candidates for Alexandria School Board at Upcoming Virtual Forum

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The general election takes place on Nov. 2. On the ballot in Alexandria, there are contests for mayor, city council, sheriff, commonwealth’s attorney, and school board. There are numerous choices for the school board. The candidates are divided into three districts: A, B, and C.

District A includes Michelle M. Rief, Deanna M. R. “D” Ohlandt, A. M. “Ish” Boyle, Willie F. Bailey Sr., and
Jacinta E. Greene. District B includes Ashley E. Simpson Baird, Bridget Shea Westfall, Tammy S. Ignacio
PreeAnn Johnson, Ricardo N. “Coach Rico” Roberts, Deborah J. Ash, and Kelly Carmichael Booz District C includes Abdel S. Elnoubi, W. Christopher Harris, and Meagan L. Alderton.

On Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m., a virtual forum will be held to give voters a chance to meet the candidates. Before the meeting, you can learn about each one by visiting HERE.

The forum is hosted by the Alexandria PTA Council. On its  website, the group describes itself as “the advocacy voice for all of our children all of the time — not just one grade, one school, or one side of town.”

The event can be accessed via Zoom and will be recorded. Afterward, there will be a candidate question and answer session by district.
