Alexandria, VA – Alexandria’s former Sheriff Dana Lawhorne and man about town, John Porter, retired principal of T.C. Williams High School (Now Alexandria City High School), poked fun at the City’s road-calming zebras when they posted this photo on social media announcing their plan to celebrate “Road Zebra Appreciation Day” on Wednesday, October 19, at Just Fine Donuts, located inside Dairy Godmother at 2310 Mount Vernon Avenue. The all-vegan donut shop created the commemorative donuts at Lawhorne’s request. They were available for a few days filled with pumpkin or Bavarian cream or just plain empty “like the effectiveness of the crumbling plastic speed bumps themselves,” joked Lawhorne.
