Gin Ramen & Asian Tapas Coming to the Carlyle Neighborhood
Owners bring the tastes of Japan to Alexandria
Alexandria, VA – Gin Ramen & Asian Tapas is coming to 500 John Carlyle. Nan and Jay, owners of the new ramen shop, are planning to provide seating for 46 in the bar with seating for 12-14 on the patio. The husband and wife team visited Japan and were struck by the all of the ramen shops, each with their own tastes and preparations. According to Nan, “It all started with my passion for Japanese culture, especially the cuisine. I am always intrigued at how they portray their way of living through culinary practices.” Nan added, “This trip inspired me to open my own ramen shop.”
The couple currently operate the Tsunami restaurant in Frederick Md. Tsunami is known for its combination of original Japanese dishes with Western Style cuisine. Their menu forms the base for Gin Ramen & Asian Tapas with a menu featuring ramen, rice bowls, and fusion tapas. Each menu offering will deliver creative food full of flavor. Another highlight of the new location is both a sake and whiskey bar.
Construction is moving quickly as the site is undergoing a complete remodeling. The restaurant is expected to open in mid to late April.
