Alexandria Homeowners Asked to Complete Survey Regarding Home Health and Safety
Survey part of multi-phase engagement effort by city agencies to improve living conditions
ALEXANDRIA, VA-The City of Alexandria wants to better understand residents’ concerns about the condition of their homes. To that end, a coalition of city agencies and organizations called the Healthy Homes Network, has launched an engagement effort, beginning with the survey HERE. It is open until Jan. 3, 2024.
Available in five languages, including Spanish and Arabic, the survey’s goal is to determine how homeowners feel most healthy and safe in their homes. Paper surveys are available. If help is need to complete the survey, contact Katelyn Mullins at 804-807-4417
This community engagement consists of two phases. The first is prioritizing topics regarding home condition such as mold, accessiibility and HVAC systems. The second is looking for causes of potential home hazards. This part includes studying policies and systems in effect that can make situations worse. It will also develop ways to solve problems and concerns.
The program is expected to continue through speing of next year. It is part of the city’s Healthy Homes Initiative, meant to ensure that Alexandrians live in healthy, safe, and hazard-free homes.
It is made possible by the Alexandria Health Department and their various partners in the Healthy Homes Network.
